Sri Lanka - Travel Itinerary Guide Part 2
Hi, I hope you enjoyed my last post on my first five days in Sri Lanka, now I will share with you my final six days in the country....
DAY 6: ELLA
Today we went on a half day trek to Little Adams Peak which was amazing. In the evening we went to a locals house to learn about Sri Lankan cuisine in a cooking class!
DAY 7: YALA NATIONAL PARK
Today we travelled by bus to Yala National Park. We headed out on a jeep safari where we came across the area's native wildlife such as elephants, leopards and aquatic birds. This was an amazing experience that I’ll never forget. Then we returned to camp in the evening for a night under the stars.
DAY 8: UNAWATUNA
Today we travelled to the coast of Unawatuna. A small beach town with a fantastic stretch of beaches with plenty of local restaurants and bars to relax
DAY 9: GALLE FORT
Today we went to Galle Fort which is a heritage town about 20 mins south of Unawatuna. It was one of the highlights of the trip. This town was so cool and interesting, it had a european feel with many cafes and restaurants on cobble stone streets.
DAY 10: UNAWATUNA
Today we spent another day relaxing by the beach and
enjoying the sunshine checking out a few other beaches nearby
DAY 11: COLOMBO
Today we got another train which took us back up the coast to the Capital City of Colombo. This is a much more developed and busy city. We explored the streets and enjoyed out last night at a local Sri Lankan eatery.
DAY 12: COLOMBO
Today was our last morning in Sri Lanka, we flew out from the airport nearby.
I hope this itinerary can give you a guide if you are planning to travel to Sri Lanka and what can be achieved in the duration of 12 days.
It really was a trip to remember!
